If you understand that physical evidence during any police investigation must be properly recorded, packaged, labeled, handled and stored to preserve integrity and the court must be satisfied that it has not been tampered with or contaminated whilst in the possession of the police or forensic agencies, then you will not need to ask further.

If you understand that the management of a crime scene during police investigation will impact on the quality, Contents-of-PRAWA-donated-IPO-_Toolkitquantity and integrity of the material gathered, you may not be far from what is in investigating Police Officer’s Toolkit.

When we realize that the duty of any Police Investigating Officer include to preserve all relevant evidence and intelligence so that the material recovered becomes an integral part of the investigation and that there is usually only one opportunity to recover physical evidence so to get it right first time is not an option, then what is in the toolkit of an IPO comes to your mind as those tools an IPO needs to be able to do his or her job well.

PRAWA with the support of Justice for All Project under the component one of Speeding-Up Criminal Justice System in Enugu State Project understands that Investigating Police Officers need to be well equipped so that they can speed-up investigation process and contribute to the whole process of speedy delivery of criminal justice in the state. That is why the Organization on Monday, 11th February, 2013, donated several Investigating Police Officers’ Toolkits to the Enugu State Command of the Nigerian Police Force.

The handover ceremony was witnessed by the Enugu State Commissioner of Police Alhaji Musa Daura, the Assistant Commissioner of Police CID, Mr. Philip Ogbadu and other Police top brass, Dr Bob Arnot, Programme Manager, J4A Nigeria, Mr. Jeff Ansell, Manager Cross Sector Co-ordination, J4A Nigeria, Dr. Uju Agomoh, Executive Director; PRAWA and other Programme Leads from all concerned Organizations.
