November 2012

The Executive Management of PRAWA joins the Executive Members of International Rehabilitation Council of Torture Victims IRCT to condemn in strong terms the legal harassment of the staff of the member centre Counseling Service Unit CSU of IRCT in Harare.

PRAWA joins other well meaning citizens of the world to petition the Zimbabwe Minister of Justice and indeed the Zimbabwean Government to drop all legal charges against Mr. Fidelis Mudimu and other staff of the centre being prosecuted presently over the charges of possessing “material likely to deface any house, building, wall, fence, lamp post, gate or elevator….”

PRAWA is of the opinion that the charges are so flimsy and specious as to use it to harass an office so helpful to humanity as the Counseling Service Unit of IRCT. Above all in this new era of democracy, human and peoples’ rights, we believe that the most respect country of Zimbabwe can find a better way of handling this.

Nkosi sikelela Africa!
