3-Day Peer-To-Peer Training conducted by the Network of Organizations Working with Street Connected Children

The Network of Organizations Working with Street Connected Children in Kano, including PRAWA, recently coordinated a comprehensive three-day peer-to-peer training program on shoe making, producing reusable sanitary pads and bead works for underprivileged children in Kano.

The training, held from the 25th to the 27th of October, 2023. The shoe making training was facilitated by two former Amajiri boys, Ibrahim and Nazifi, who had previously received training from PRAWA.

The children were peered in three groups to learn the three different hand works.

During the program, the children in the shoe making group were taught to make shoe insoles on the first day, on day two, they were taught on how to make the top pattern of shoe and on day three, the finale, the children made a complete footwear for both male and female sexes.

This program is one of many initiatives carried out by the Network to provide better opportunities to less privileged children in Kano.

We appreciate the efforts and contributions of all the members of the Network: ISA WALI Empowerment Initiative, Celoha Nigeria, Mufarka Youth Development Initiatives, Ummuhani SALAM Foundation, Kasham Girls Women Youth and Community Development Network, PRAWA.
